Enjoying Alaska Airlines

We fkew to ABQ (Albuquerque) on United because their one-way fare was the cheapest, SEA-SFO-ABQ in Economy Plus - no complaints as United "Million Mile Flyers."

We flew back to SEA on Alaska as MVP 75Ks -in First and even recognized at the gate - corny but oddly touching.

Home Again

The Southwest was as great as ever, but it was nice to land at SEA tonight.

Chanterelle Hunting in Colorado High Country

Ellyn drove us up to Durango Mountain Resort. From there we twisted and turned up dirt roads for another 30-40 minutes.

We parked the car, walked past a hunting  camp with a string of pack horses, and said hello to a friendly cowboy guide.

We walked up into the woods until we found our first stand of chanterelles, and set to work. 15 or so pounds later we drove back to Ellyn's house to process our crop.

We're still contemplating the best way to get our share back home.

Fall Colorado Colors

The sky was blue, the Aspens were quaking scenically, and the views were spectacular.

Durango to Silverton

We didn't take the train but saw it in Silverton. What a beautiful day for a drive...

Engineer Mountain and Molas Pass.

There's Silverton below.

We can't resist a closer look at the train.

Durango: Tacos Nayarit

Back in Durango for Kathy's, ah, most recent high school reunion, we meet sister-in-law Ellyn at this bustling joint and enjoy ourselves.
