An Indian Mountain Drive to Remember

Peter from Carnival Tours met us at the hotel and introduced us to our driver, Biju. Our ride is a Toyota Innova Crista, an SUV similar in size to a RAV4.

Early on, Biju pointed out pineapples growing in a field.

The drive was interesting in more ways than one. This is a lush semitropical area that supports a variety of agricultural products, from pineapples to spices to various fruits.

What took us about five hours of driving to travel 140 kilometers (85 miles) was the curviest, narrowest mountain roads we have ever seen, comparable only to old jeep trails in Colorado, but paved (somewhat) and quite crowded.

We made it, and Biju is skillful enough that we weren't even that nervous.
