A Quick Bus Tour of Nürnberg (Nuremberg)

The guide on our Gate 1 Bus into Nuremberg provided a good introduction to the importance of this city to Hitler and the Nazis. No wonder this was the place chosen for the major war crimes trials.

We drove inside the unfinished Kongresshalle, modeled on Rome’s Colosseum, but much bigger.

We stopped at the “Zeppelin Field,” the site of massive Nazi rallies.

Our guide showed us photos of its infamous “glory days.” It’s now a decaying wreck. Shades of Ozymandias.

Then it was on to happier places, specifically to Nuremberg’s famous Christmas Market.
