Berlin: A Hampton and a ‘Fat Landlady’

We caught another ICE train from Hamburg to Berlin yesterday.

Once there, we caught an S-Bahn to Savigny Platz, and walked from there to a modern Hampton by Hilton, our home for three nights.

Our balcony view...

The hotel got us reservations at a popular nearby restaurant, Dicke Wirtin, or the Fat Landlady.

Lots of noise, lots of good hearty food, and reasonably priced.

Today it rained and even splurging on Uber we were quite soaked visiting a couple of museums, the DDR Museum (life behind The Wall) and the German History Museum.

Our hazy view of the East German TV tower tells the soggy story.

Tonight it’s Mozart’s Magic Flute, a particular favorite of ours, at the Deutsche Oper.
