Shenzhen: Tongtai Time Square Mall

It’s next door to the Courtyard. In fact, they share a large underground parking garage and an hotel employee walked us through it to escape the sudden downpour of rain.

It’s fairly new (they may be celebrating their second anniversary this weekend), fairly large, nd fairly spectacular.

We seem to notice a lot of infants and young children. Could it be because China’s 35-year-old One Child Policy ended January 1, 2016? Some of them stare at us (we only saw one other Caucasian in the mall)
and we smile and wave at them.

Malls are still good for people watching and window shopping. In only 15 years of visits to China, we’ve seen a lot of changes.
