Oz Fest #11: The Red Centre - Wrapping It Up

We feel so fortunate to have attended our eighth consecutive Oz Fest in the Red Centre, Alice Springs and Uluru

What a fine group it was, congenial folks from Australia, the U.S., and New Zealand this year, bonding with a shared love of travel. The itinerary was daunting but doable, and proved to be even more fascinating that it appeared in writing.

Friday we visited Alice Springs Desert Park. Saturday we toured the School of The Air, the historic Telegraph Relay Station, Anzac Hill, the Royal Flying Doctors Tourist Facility, and the Central Australian Aviation Museum.

Sunday we drove by chartered bus to Uluru, and toured the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park with our guide before stopping for a view of the rock as the sun set, and a delicious barbecue prepared by our guide and driver, complete with sparkling wine.

Today we flew from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs to Adelaide. We're staying for the next three nights at the Adelaide Hilton, and tomorrow will wander around the museums of central Adelaide with FlyerTalk friend Greg, before we fly onward to Vietnam.
