Wandering Colombo

We visited a number of sites in and around Colombo today in a reasonably priced Kangaroo Cab.

Suris, our driver, had picked us up at the airport yesterday, and our comfortable ride in the clean and comfortable Prius taxi motivated us to hire him.

We visited a couple of Buddhist temples, a model of an ancient village, and the national museum.

Those were all of varying degrees of interest, but the most fun was watching the city and its people, experiencing patterns in the seemingly chaotic traffic, and chatting with Suris, who is very proud of his country.

We treated him to lunch in a Chinese restaurant while showing each other photos of his two daughters (11 and 4) and our eight grandchildren.
