Our Brief Icelandic Saga

We just returned to the Jewel after a great day of walking around Reykjavik on what was probably an unusually sunny day. We bought a pass on the Hop on – Hop Off bus that proved to be a great deal for us, even though it was 20 Euros each.

Reykjavik is a compact and fairly flat city, although it’s surrounded by mountains. It has many sidewalks and walking paths and we probably walked at least two hours, enjoying the sunshine and engaging in some people watching.

We went up in a circular sort of viewing tower called the Perlan, built if we recall correctly on top of some water tanks. We’ll post pictures at some later point but we leave Reykjavik with pleasant memories of a lovely city and friendly people.
