Sleepy Chicago

We took a profitable voluntary bump today, rerouting our Seattle-Newark flight on Alaska.

We hate to say it but an Alaska agent completely messed up our new tickets, as he did for another couple.

Fortunately another agent was able to fix it up. We have a five-hour layover here at ORD before boarding an American Eagle regional jet to Newark.

Amazingly, in one corner of this quiet terminal we ran into Megan, one of our Flyertalk friends, and enjoyed a catch-up visit with her.

We've learned that even one of the biggest and busiest airports in the world is quiet at 2:00 a.m., other than cleaning crews and a few passengers sleeping on chairs or on the floor.
