Lucca Lunch: Buca di Sant'Antonio

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here with Greg and June circa 2006. We dropped by one Monday in 2013 during a cruise, but it's closed for lunch Monday.

Today we made it and it seems to be as good as ever. Bonus: the same sommelier we encountered a dozen years ago - the one with the English-teacher wife - is still there.

We've long followed his advice: "Wines don't travel well. They're best enjoyed in the country of their origin." Not a problem when you're in Italy!

"Light" Lunch...

Buccellato originated in Lucca and it's a tasty dessert.

We're ready for a nap after that light lunch.
