Frankfurt to Seattle in Lufthansa First Class

The magic of Flyer Talk continues to our morning flight FRA-SEA. In the LH Senator Lounge we happened to run into Eric, another participant in the Mega DO. He related a sad story to us. He and another FT friend were hoping to upgrade into Business Class. Aside from the fact that Business Class is full, Lufthansa won't put them on the waiting list because they'd ordered special meals.

In the next breath he offered to give us the upgrades. Since we were booked in Business Class already, this meant an upgrade into First Class. It was accepted at the counter after a phone call and we now sit in the First Class Lounge trying to look as if we belong here.

Thank you Eric! We will reciprocate and in the meantime we're looking forward to flying from Frankfurt to Seattle in First Class. Wow!

We first left the Senator and walked downstairs to the First Class Lounge. They were featuring a lovely looking breakfast buffet. Since we'd already eaten a good German breakfast at the Frankfurt Hilton, we settled on glasses of water which came accompanied by nicely presented fruit plates.

There were only a few of us there and it would be great place to spend time between flights.

Then it was time to board the plane. It was an A 330 with eight seats in First. The purser and another flight attendant share the duties. We were very well looked after during our flight, which included two full meals. The photo immediately below is a plate of mixed appetizers.

For our second meal Kathy chose dumplings with sauerkraut.

Brian enjoyed the Wiener Schnitzel.

We got off the flight well rested and ready to face our two-hour drive back to Birch Bay. We made it through Immigration and Customs quickly (friendly officers at SEA)and were back home in good time.

Now to start posting some pictures of the actual trip...
