Yin-Yang Packing for Asia

Tuesday morning we fly to Singapore (SIN) via Japan (NRT). Flying United, which doesn’t have the most convenient times to and from SIN, we land shortly after midnight and plan to try out the Transit Hotel inside the airport before clearing immigration and taking rapid transit into the city the following day.

After several days in Singapore we’re flying back as far as NRT and staying two nights in Tokyo, our first time ever to visit Japan, other than transiting the airport.

That itinerary makes packing two roll-aboards a real challenge: a few days in Singapore, averaging 88-90 F (32 C) with high humidity, followed by a couple of days in Tokyo, where the average temperature is around 45-50 degrees F (7-9 C) at this time of year.

Layers R Us for this trip in particular.
