Vatican Museum, St. Peter's, And Lucky Da Luciano

We spent several hours on a beautiful Rome day wandering around the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Cathedral. We may even post some photos at some point when we find ourselves with a high-speed connection that will support extensive uploads (at the hotel at least, there is a limit on uploads and downloads).

After all of that culture and history and walking, we decided to treat ourselves to dinner for the second consecutive night at Da Luciano.

We met a very nice couple in the Imperial Club tonight over appetizers, Joe and Jen from Philadelphia. It happened that we were coincidentally seated adjacent to them in Da Luciano last night and we compared notes. Last night Kathy enjoyed a lobster pasta dish while Brian consumed a spicy pizza. Jen had ordered the lobster pasta also, but found it salty. Not surprisingly, so did we and and it was no surprise that we awoke during the night to reach for the bedside bottled water,

After saying good evening to Joe and Jen, we walked down to
da Luciano. Tonight, greeted by our waiter like old friends, we shared a salad caprese and bruschetta as appetizers, and followed up by sharing the featured gnocchi with a fresh tomato sauce. The buffalo mozzarella was outstanding as were the tomatoes, probably from Africa according to our waiter. For the main course Kathy enjoyed a veal al limone and Brian savored a slightly spicier veal dish that could be described as a refined calzone. We went with the waiter's recommendations overall and weren't disappointed with anything.

Now it's time for some rest until we tackle our last full day of Rome before departing. We're having a great time.
