With a minimum of confusion we find our way across the street to our hotel, the Reichshof Hamburg, a member of Hilton’s Curio Collection.
We’ve only stayed in one other Curio property, a quirky and charming old hotel in Buenos Aires, and this one with its small elevators and winding corridors gives the same impression.
All we do after checking in is try out a nearby Thai restaurant for dinner. It doesn’t hugely impress us (we’re used to great Thai food back home) but it’s cheap and decent enough.
A better sleep last night with only a couple of hours of insomnia between 1 and 3, and we’re ready to face our first morning in Hamburg in about 37 years.
