MUC-MLA on a Lufthansa Flying Sauna, Hilton Malta Arrival

That Lufthansa A321 must have been upwards of 85 degrees F, but others sat bundled up as we sweltered for 2 1/2 hours. We've often found German planes hot, but this one stands out. Still, we arrived safely at Malta International Airport safely, and that's the main thing.

We lined up at the pre-paid taxi queue, forked over 20 Euros for a ride to St. Julian's, and off we drove on a Mr.  Toad's Wild Ride simulation.

We drove through no fewer than three tunnels, sharing one with two wailing ambulances, roared around roundabouts, and tailgated slower drivers, honking and swerving to pass them. Again, we arrived safely at the Hilton and thanked our maniacal driver.

It's a fairly impressive property, and we were upgraded to a Relaxation Suite, one large room with a large bathroom and a private balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. Not a bad start.
