Valletta, Malta: St John's Co-Cathedral

By the best of good fortune, our visit to Malta coincided with one by one of our globetrotting Flyertalk friends, Greg Davis.

Friday we all boarded one of the two "hop-on" bus services, something of a fiasco. We chose to get off at the War Museum, only to find it closed for two months. Brian loped back to the bus as it pulled away.

We trudged up the hill toward the old city on top, with Greg making a much brisker pace.

We met up again at St. John's Co-Cathedral and Museum, an historic - and amazingly decorated - sanctuary built for the Knights of St. John.

We were lucky, as a sign announced that it's closing indefinitely  as of this coming Monday.

The day - and the walking- were far from done.
