The Heathrow Star Alliance Arrivals Lounge

This is our second visit to this lounge, located outside security, which is open to passengers arriving in First or Business Class.

Our flight from Dulles on a 767 was just fine, although at about seven hours it's actually too short a time to catch more than three or four hours sleep.

We zipped through Her Majesty's Immigration procedures via the "Fast Track" pass UA handed out, but there was only one employee on duty - she and a colleague at the next counter commiserated about that - and had we been much later we would have been standing in line for some time.

The lounge serves a hot breakfast on request, and has showers. Unfortunately the hot water isn't working properly - they're ever so sorry, the "engineer" has been called, and they'll let us know when they're up and running. I heard one arriving passenger comment to the desk that it sounded the same as last week but we're happy to wait since our train up to Edinburgh doesn't leave until this afternoon.

Update... The showers are now working terrifically well, our hot breakfast is on the way, and we'll linger here until about 10:00 a.m. local time to get a cheaper fare on the Oyster Pass fare into London, about half price after 9:30 a.m.

It doesn't feel like it's only 1:18 a.m. at home, but we'll probably fade a little as the day progresses. Still, we feel great and ready to ride the train to Edinburgh.
