Texting While Driving In Belgium

Kathy sometimes plays a game that involves counting the number of people we pass on I-5 who are talking on their wireless phones (now against the law in Washington State) or texting.

The number of young female drivers who do this seems especially high, at least according to Kathy's observations. We've even seen people driving with both hands off the wheel.

This brings us to a public-service video produced in Belgium. It's in the form of a candid-camera type of stunt in which the driving instructor tells his students that a new law requires them to prove their ability to drive and text simultaneously when they take their driving exams.

The results are both amusing and instructive. You can watch the video here at Gizmodo.
