Tomato Sauce New Zealand-Style

We started with a nice bunch of nice fresh tomatoes, spices, and herbs, to which Kathy added a can of “tomato sauce” that we picked up at a grocery store in a nearby town. Ye Gads! It’s sweet, tastes of cinnamon (Greek-style spaghetti sauce?) and has led to a dining crisis. At least it doesn’t contain vegemite but the Kiwis need to seriously evaluate what they describe as "tomato sauce."

Update: When we mentioned this to Amanda at Wilderness she laughed and told us that we'd actually bought ketchup!
