In Lisbon, as Star Alliance Golds we were able to stop at a crowded TAP lounge…
Once at the typically crowded gate, Brian was surprised to be paged and offered upgrades, first for three and subsequently for two. Tom and Ellyn insisted on sitting back in “the village” while Kathy and Brian were ensconced in Business class, the seating for which is usually the same but with a blocked middle seat.
We two actually dined well on Duck a l’orange.
Oddly for us, after the meal service the flight attendants disappeared for the remainder of the two-plus hour flight.
We landed, took the Malpensa Express to Stazione Centrale, and checked in at the Hilton two blocks away. Kathy secured lounge access for us all and we had time for drinks and appetizers before bed.
This morning we find a superb buffet breakfast and are ready to start the day.
