Providence: Dinner At Al Forno

Eat your heart out, Greg. Your daughter, son-in-law, and we greatly enjoyed our meal at the well-reviewed Al Forno last night.

We managed to get a table immediately after 8:00 p.m. on a Tuesday evening (apparently not so easy at other times) and enjoyed a shared appetizer of a thin-crust Grilled Pizza Margarita (a house specialty). After studying the menu and listening to Gina's and Alyre's advice, Kathy and Alyre chose the Linguine with Creamy Egg, Duck Bacon and Pea Tendrils. Brian and Gina selected Handmade Beef Shortrib Ravioli

It wasn't cheap @ $20 for each plate we ordered but it was all beautifully presented and delicious. Alyre picked a pleasing Chianti that went well with the food.

For dessert, we each had a bite of the Native Apple Crisp with enough left over for Gina to take home.

Very good food and even better company made for a wonderful evening for us. Gina took some photos of the food for us and if we can master the technology we'll post them here to allow her parents to consider what they might order on their next visit to Providence.
