Wandering Around Providence

A fine prospect from Prospect Terrace Park.

There and elsewhere driving around the area (including a foray into Brown University) we enjoyed seeing the stately Colonial-style homes. The squarish multi-story design of many of them reminded us that our Saturna Island home with its uneven roof line was described in the drawings as a "New England Saltbox."

We also spent a pleasant couple of hours strolling in the well known Italian neighborhood of Federal Hill.
We tested our willpower to the limit by not stopping at any of the restaurants, markets, or cafes to eat, deciding to save ourselves for dinner with Gina and her husband tonight.
